Individuals wishing to deepen their knowledge with post-baccalaureate studies can complete an advanced degree in business online or on campus through the UW-Whitewater Master of Business Administration and one of 12 unique emphases. The General Business major is ideal for students who are interested in gaining a breadth of business knowledge. The program provides an engaging environment that advances critical thinking, innovative problem-solving, ethical behavior, leadership, and a commitment to diversity. Earn your BBA in general business, followed by an online MBA with a concentration in either business administration, supply chain management, healthcare administration or data analytics in just five years. Students can choose from 13 business-related student organizations to create professional connections, develop leadership skills and build international friendships. You can enhance your studies with a minor from the College of Business or the College of Arts and Sciences in topics ranging from Entrepreneurship to Communication. Engages students in active learning strategies that enable effective transition to college life at WVU. Students will explore school, college and university programs, policies and services relevant to academic success.
This course incorporates a study abroad program with an emphasis on examining the conduct of business in foreign countries. Students will obtain first-hand experience in communicating with business professionals, business school students, and other constituencies. This course is geared towards allowing students who are interested in growing a career in international business to explore foreign economic, social, and cultural environments. General Business differs from the other majors because it is interdisciplinary. This means General Business offers classes in depth from all the business disciplines. A student who has a General Business degree will take classes in accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing.

Through the Eastin Center, Spears Business supports our students’ professional growth from awareness, to acquisition of knowledge, to practice and feedback, and ultimately successful implementation. Our graduates accept jobs such as management trainees, entry-level positions, business owners, assistant administrators, assistant managers, and customer service representatives.

Step outside your comfort zone, and learn how other cultures live and do business. This course will serve as an introduction to the process of managing and working effectively with people. The primary objective of this course is to provide students with an overview of the basic principles involved in effective management practices, including general and specific elements of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.

You'll choose from openings in insurance, manufacturing, financial services, retail, healthcare, communications, and other sectors.
